Hello & Welcome to 'Bay View'...
A place to really get away to!!!
Porthallow, or 'Pralla' as it's known locally, was once a thriving fishing village situated south of the Helford River, particularly renowned for it's abundance of pilchards. Although there remains no visual evidence today, it retains that character and echoes a bygone age, with an uncanny air of days long gone.

It is also quite appropriately the half way point on the south west coastal path, as there are many local walks with truly spectacular views across Falmouth Bay toward St. Anthony's lighthouse, Gull Rock and Dodman Point in the distance... on a clear day you can see miles of the beautiful south Cornish coast!
The beach is shingle with crystal clear blue water, ideal for a spot of snorkelling, fishing or whatever takes your fancy... 'Pralla' is truly a magical place,

Ideal for day boaters, thanks to the gentle slope, it's an easy place to berth & launch,  The Village Association provide various licences for use of winching and berthing facilities and at very competitive rates. The north side of the beach is reserved for such activity, with the upper part of the south side reserved for car parking, for which a small donation is kindly requested.
